Can you use a jogging stroller for a newborn infant?

Or are they recommended for babies a little older? Someone gave me a Safety 1St.jogging stroller and it doesn't seem to have much support. It wasn't given to me for jogging, because I don't jog. A friend of mine bought it after adopting a baby and they didn't like it because the wheels don't swivel. I find it bulky and cumbersome.
Anyone else experience with this gear?? Thanks

I have the Baby Trend jogging stroller along with the infant carrier. The carrier locks into the stroller and we have been using it since our little one was a newborn. We don't use the infant carrier anymore now that he is 5 months and 20 lbs. The stroller we have does have a swiveling front wheel, along with cup holders and storage for mom and cupholders and tray for baby.

Here is the one we have:

Here is one that comes with the seat:

    Take care!

if you don't jog a jogging stroller isn't going to do you much good to begin with! And yes you can use it with a newborn…. and if the wheels don't swivel chances are you aren't going to like it much either….. go ahead and find a regular old stroller that has swivel wheels cause they turn better and you should probably get one that thas bigger wheels as well because they work better over different types of terrain!

Baby Trend makes a jogger that is designed to hold the Baby Trend infant carrier – this is the only jogger that I know of that is safe for newborns. Otherwise, you should wait until your child is strong enough to hold their head up at actually sit – just like you would before you'd use an umbrella stroller.

I would go online and google the exact product you have to find the weight recommendations.

Safety 1st is not acceptable for a newborn, no. Try the Graco Quattro, or any other fully reclining stroller. If you really want a jogger, try the Phil and Ted's, but it sounds like you just need a good buggy!
